Frequently Asked Questions

What is the difference between airbrush and standard foundation?

Airbrush is formulated to be sweat, tear, and water resistant for up to 18 hours of wear. It offers light to full coverage with custom color matching and the most weightless feel. The finish can range from matte to dewy based on your desired look but overall is the best option for normal to oily skin types or when excessive sweat, heat and humidity are a factor.

Standard foundation is your typical liquid foundation with medium to full coverage. I recommend standard for very dry, flakey skin types or those with extra “peach fuzz” present.

I’d say 90% of the wedding make up I do is airbrush based on people’s preference for full coverage with a weightless feel, but it is always up to you on which you prefer!

Why are bridal trials scheduled within 30 days of the wedding?

trials are scheduled within 30 days of your wedding date at Hanna’s location in Cairo. Generally they are Monday- Thursday evenings between 6 and 8 pm unless otherwise discussed. Anything prior to 30 days in advance is considered a “one-time application” and will be charged as such. (Ex. Make up done a year in advance for engagement photos will not count as a bridal trial run.)

This allows you to come as you will on your actual wedding day with similar hair color, skin color, skin texture, etc. during your bridal trial we discuss final headcount, wedding day timeline, apply the make up and go over any desired changes for your final look. We record products used, process remaining bridal package payments and take photos for reference.

What forms of payment do you accept?

Any payments made the day of the event can be done by Venmo or cash. Checks will not be accepted and processing fees will be applied to cards. Deposits for dates may be paid by cash, check, Venmo or PayPal.

What do you need for set up and tear down?

Hanna will need to arrive and set up 15 minutes prior to the scheduled start time and will take roughly the same amount of time to pack up once everyone is finished. A folding card table or similar surface where products can be laid out will be required. Ring light and make up chair will be provided by Hanna. Set up areas with natural light are preferred but not mandatory as I know some churches do not allow for that option. Access to a plug in will also be required.

How can I prepare for my appointment?

Skin prep similar to what you will have on your wedding day should also be done before your trial so you can see the most accurate representation of how the make up will wear. Dermaplaning, spray or self tanning, hydrafacials, waxing and plucking, etc. once you have entered your wedding month it is not recommended that you try anything new to you due to risk of skin reaction and healing time. Any facial waxing should be done 5-7 days prior to your wedding day.

Do you have a minimum or maximum headcount?

Each wedding party will have a minimum headcount of 5 faces full make up applications. There is no maximum headcount, but will be based according to timeline allotted for the event. final headcounts will be required at your bridal trial. If for some reason the headcount drops below 5 the bride will be required to pay the difference at $95/missing person.

How long does each person take?

Bridal make up will either be 45 minutes or 90 minutes based on the package selected. One time applications will take roughly 35 minutes each unless previously upgraded.

Can I have a second artist?

Second artist can be booked through HMUA Hanna or if you have someone in mind you can also select your own. Second artists booked through Hanna will have their own mileage fee of $0.50/mi. Please let Hanna know asap if your headcount is larger than 8 and you’d like her to reserve your second artist.
